E.L. James Hopes for a Second Shearing of the Sheep

Ooooh, big news!

So-called author E.L. James has announced that she has rewritten her original trash hit, Fifty Shades of Grey, from the point-of-view of a different character.  Wow, that must have been hard work...Well, according to USA Today, James is not the only one to take the easy way out while hoping to cash in on gullible readers:
Grey is dedicated to "those readers who asked…and asked… and asked… and asked for this," James says. It continues a trend in publishing of authors writing companion novels to franchises from the perspective of a different character than the original. Stephenie Meyer re-wrote the Twilight series from Edward's point of view in Midnight Sun, and Veronica Roth re-told the Divergent books in a series of short stories Tobias' perspective in Four: A Divergent Collection.
The big question is whether the sheep who bought the first book will all return for a second shearing.  Here's betting that most of them do.  Why do I suddenly feel nauseous?

  1. What they don't mention is that E.L. James is even less original than the other two - everything she's published was originally Twilight fanfic (and her writing Grey looks an awful lot like her once again copying off of Stephenie Meyer - she can't even be original in the way she displays her lack of originality).

    1. Great point. I will never understand how such bad writing can make such a fortune. People are sheep, no other explanation makes sense. When something is perceived as popular and trendy, sheeple jump right on the bandwagon just to be part of the scene. Oh well...their money.
